Fantastic festive stay, we were made to feel so welcome annd even had our own Christmas tree! The accommodations were extremely high quality, well thought out and comfortable. The gardens were beautiful even in winter and the spa facilities were incredible. Having your own sauna, hot tub and cold plunge was such a treat. We can’t wait to return.

Eskfield is one of those homes you just say wow from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. The attention detail and the facilities inside the home make it hard to ever want to leave to explore the rest of the grounds during your stay. But that's okay since the walled garden is completely private you and comes with its own section of the river and bridges. Eskfield is designed for two people staying but we happily hosted dinner and drinks for the rest of the family for one of the evenings we stayed there. Already considering adding Eskfield as a permanent edition to our calender each year.

What a simply wonderful place that surpassed any expectations we had! We wanted to do something special for our anniversary so stayed at “Clermount” and from the gorgeous smell of the house when we first walked in, to the extremely comfortable bed, well stocked kitchen equipment, beautiful garden, amazing bathroom and hot tub to the house’s exquisite décor, we cannot wait to go back. When we first saw the estate houses online, we wondered could it really be as good as it looked, and it was even better in person! Little touches everywhere like the welcome treats, great coffee, artwork, it just feels like a really special place to be, clearly a lot of thought and love has been poured into it. Even walking on the estate with the autumn leaves, it was so peaceful and just what we needed. We would thoroughly recommend a stay!

We had the best time at the Stable Park house on Penicuik Estate! We stayed for a weekend to celebrate American Thanksgiving with our family and some friends. Not only was the house comfortable and beautiful, but the kitchen was sizeable and well stocked enough for us to whip up a feast! Loads of counter space, great pots and pans, and a wonderful coffee maker to keep us fuelled. Couldn’t recommend this spot more, we’re already considering hiring again for next year.

Think warm touches, character, and a sense of being somewhere with its own story. We stayed at the Eskfield property at Penicuik Estate, about a 30 minute drive from Edinburgh, and it was everything we hoped for in a romantic long weekend. The house sits in its own large private garden, surrounded by woods, and feels like a slice of heritage glam tucked away from the world. You get total privacy, but still have excellent service through WhatsApp whenever you need anything. The interiors were planned with real care. Every detail felt intentional and nothing was out of place. The garden, the fireplace, the BBQ, the terrace, and the private spa made it easy to settle in and switch off. It was exactly the kind of quiet luxury we were looking for. You do not need a car, but you do need to plan ahead for taxis since they can be scarce. Once arranged, getting into Edinburgh for dinner is simple. We enjoyed having the option to relax at Eskfield or head into the city when we felt like a change of pace. A special thank you to Thomas, who was incredibly helpful and even drove us to the local store when we needed a few things. I would recommend Penicuik Estate to anyone dreaming of a peaceful and luxurious Scotland getaway. We loved our time at Eskfield and would be very happy to return.

Had a fabulous 4 days here in late November. Proximity to Edinburgh is excellent although the accommodation and the grounds of the estate are so idyllic and well put together there is really no reason to leave. The facilities in the house are absolutely 1st rate and I couldn’t recommend it more highly. It’s been curated by someone with amazing attention to detail and thought, providing every practicality a guest could want. Will be going back as soon as we can.

We stayed here for 2 nights for my birthday weekend. It was perfect, we cooked 2gorgeous meals both nights, one was a tomahawk steak on the bbq & the kitchen had everything you would need. We stayed in Eastlin. The bed is so comfortable! The hot tub was lovely, the shower in the cottage is fabulous, both indoor and outdoor fires were a dream! The grounds around the cottages is beautiful also, we’ll definitely be back!

Eskfield was the perfect couples get away. Classy and cosy but grand & immaculate. Huge bathroom and very good sized bedroom. Beautifully furnished with additional hot tub, plunge pool and incredible sauna suite. Outdoor fire. The house is incredibly private with its own walled garden. A long bumpy driveway down to it but nothing too difficult. Staff were very helpful and accessible but in no way intrusive, quite the opposite! Will be back again without doubt!
